Reusable stainless steel needle filters

Needle filters are disposable membrane-type devices used to remove solid impurities from liquid and gaseous samples prior to analysis by methods such as HPLC, ion chromatography, gas chromatography, ICP, and dissolution tests. Proper sample filtration improves the quality and consistency of analysis results and reduces instrument downtime. For fast and effective filtration, disposable needle filters are usually used. The choice depends on the specific application. Sterile needle filters can be used to sterilize or clarify sterile solutions, while non-sterile needle filters are used for general filtration and sample cleaning. Needle filters are classified according to two main characteristics: membrane and housing. Both characteristics must be adapted to the application conditions and the filtrate. 

Needle filter membranes are selected according to the material, filter diameter and pore size, while needle filter housings are selected according to the final application in terms of material and style.  

Stainless steel needle filters developed by BM Life Sciences are reusable needle holders designed for ultra-pure and sterile filtration in a volume of about 100 ml. The top end is easily installed above the bottom end using the included illumination tool. The filter supports either forward or reverse filtering.
